A Schalke official says that reported Arsenal target Julian Draxler will not leave the club in January.

Schalke 04's general manager Horst Heldt has insisted that playmaker Julian Draxler will not leave the club during the January transfer window.

Recent reports have suggested that Arsenal, as well a host of other European clubs, are keen to sign the 20-year-old at the earliest possible opportunity.

"Julian Draxler will be at our club this season, that is for sure," Heldt told Kicker-Sportmagazin.

"There will be no fuss regarding him during the January window, as he is committed to our club."

Draxler joined the Royal Blues in 2001 as a trainee.

Schalke's Julian Draxler is congratulated by team mates after scoring his team's second goal against PAOK Thessaloniki during their Champions League play-off match on August 27, 2013
