Arsenal touch base with Juventus in their bid to sign Stephan Lichtsteiner, according to reports.

Arsenal have reportedly contacted Juventus over a prospective deal to sign right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.

The 30-year-old is out of contract with the Italian giants in the summer, though Bianconeri chief Giuseppe Marotta has outlined his intention to extend his deal.

However, according to Sky Sport Italia, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has touched base with Marotta and hopes to thrash out a deal for the Switzerland international.

Lichtsteiner has been an ever-present in a Juventus side that has dominated Italy by winning Serie A every season since the 2011-12 campaign.
