Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Bacary Sagna, who is out of contract with Arsenal in the summer.

Manchester City are reportedly weighing up a move for Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna.

The Frenchman is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the season and is able to discuss pre-contract agreements with other clubs due to having just six months left on his current deal.

Arsenal and Sagna have been locked in discussions over fresh terms for him to stay at the Emirates Stadium but are yet to reach an agreement, with manager Arsene Wenger usually unwilling to offer more than a one-year deal to players over the age of 30.

Given the current situation, The Metro claims that Man City have taken an interest in capturing the right-back using their financial power, although they face competition from the likes of AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Galatasaray and Inter Milan.

Sagna, who turns 31 next month, joined Arsenal from Auxerre in 2007.
