Basel defender Fabian Schar is attracting interest from three European clubs including Arsenal, according to reports.

Arsenal are reportedly showing interest in signing Basel's Fabian Schar, but face competition for the defender's signature from Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan.

The Daily Express cites reports in Spain linking the 22-year-old with a move away from St Jakob's Park in January and the Gunners are rumoured to be one of his potential suitors.

Schar, who was part of the Switzerland team that reached the last-16 of this summer's World Cup, is believed to have been given a £10m price tag by his club, but Basel are keen to retain the youngster beyond the New Year.

Arsenal have been linked with an array of defenders after recent signing Mathieu Debuchy sustained an injury in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
