Arsenal and Manchester City share a 2-2 draw at the Emirates in their Premier League clash.

Arsenal and Manchester City have played to a 2-2 draw after both sides led during their Premier League clash at the Emirates this afternoon.

The hosts created the majority of the chances early on, with Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil both putting Joe Hart under pressure, while Danny Welbeck was denied a goal on his debut after hitting the post.

The Premier League champions started to see more of the ball as the first half progressed, resulting in a long-range shot from James Milner, but he failed to test Wojciech Szczesny.

However, the visitors broke the deadlock just a couple of minutes later when a well-placed pass from Jesus Navas left Sergio Aguero to slot the ball in from close range.

Pablo Zabaleta tried to set up a second for Manuel Pellegrini's side a couple of minutes later, providing a through-ball for David Silva, but the Spaniard's shot was straight to the Arsenal keeper.

Arsenal had a couple of half-chances shortly before the break as Alexis Sanchez tried to curl the ball in from a free kick, while Ozil blasted the ball well high from the edge of the box.

The hosts almost found an equaliser at the start of the second half, but Zabaleta was on hand to halt a cross from Sanchez intended for Welbeck.

The visitors responded in a bid to increase their lead, but Aguero fired high and wide before a lofted effort from Gael Clichy also missed the target.

Arsenal capitalised on a scrappy spell to get back on level terms, as the hosts broke from midfield to allow Sanchez to pick out Jack Wilshere, who got the better of Hart with a finish from a tight angle.

The goal seemed to strengthen the hosts, who continued to look like adding a second, and did so when Wilshere headed the ball into the box for Sanchez to volley past Hart, putting Arsenal ahead for the first time.

There was a blow for the hosts inside the final 10 minutes, though, as Mathieu Debuchy was stretchered off with an apparent leg injury following several minutes of treatment on the pitch.

City were quick to attack once action was back underway, with Martin Demichelis rising high to head in from close range, despite Szczesny getting a hand to the ball.

Samir Nasri thought that he had scored the winner in stoppage time when he slotted the ball in from a rebound, but his effort was disallowed for offside in the build-up, ensuring that the sides finished level.
