Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere admits that his upcoming one-match ban could give him the rest he needs following his return from serious injury.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that his upcoming one-match ban could give him some much-needed rest following his return from injury.

The England international, who missed the whole of last season with an ankle problem, picked up two yellow cards during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.

"It's disappointing to miss any game but if I think about it another way, maybe it will be good for me to have a little break and come back for the Tottenham game [a week later]," said Wilshere.

The Gunners host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
