Arsene Wenger: 'Liverpool rout raises questions'

Following their thrashing by Liverpool, Arsene Wenger admits that Arsenal will need to answer the doubters when they face Manchester United in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger has admitted that Arsenal have a point to prove when they face reigning champions Manchester United in the Premier League on Wednesday.

Questions have been raised over the Gunners' title challenge following Saturday's 5-1 thrashing by Liverpool at Anfield, which knocked them off the top of the table.

He told reporters: "It raises questions that we have to answer on Wednesday night. I still think we can win the league because mathematically it is possible.

"It is always what you make of a defeat that decides your future. We have a lot to answer and a lot of answers to find.

"It is perhaps better I don't talk too much and get on and respond well against Manchester United on Wednesday because I include myself in that performance."

Arsenal lost 1-0 to United in the reverse fixture courtesy of a Robin van Persie goal.
