Carl Jenkinson "over the moon" with Tottenham Hotspur win

Carl Jenkinson says that he is buzzing after Arsenal's North London derby victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson has revealed that he is "over the moon" with his side's win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Gunners came out on top of the North London derby thanks to a first-half Olivier Giroud goal that gave them a 1-0 victory at the Emirates Stadium.

Jenkinson, a boyhood Arsenal fan, believes that the frantic final five minutes of defending highlighted the strong determination of the home side.

"It's fantastic to get a result like that," Jenkinson told the club's official website. "The performance from the boys and the way we've bounced back from the opening day of the season is fantastic. I'm over the moon.

"We had to protect our lead [at the end] and I guess that was always going to be the case. In the last five minutes, they were going to chuck everyone forward and the last five minutes really showed the grit and determination in this squad to succeed.

"Everyone fought and everyone pulled together. The last five minutes was more of a war than a football match. We came out on top and I'm buzzing."

Arsenal now move above Spurs into fourth place in the Premier League table.
