Southampton midfielder Jack Cork hails his side's workrate during their 1-1 draw with Arsenal and throughout the festive period.

Southampton midfielder Jack Cork has hailed the side's workrate after they drew 1-1 with Arsenal earlier today.

Gaston Ramirez put the Saints ahead before an unfortunate own goal from Guly do Prado earned Arsenal a point.

Cork believes that his side have put in a great effort over the festive period, a spell which has seen them move out of the relegation zone.

"It was a good point. I think we could have nicked it towards the end," Cork told Sky Sports News.

"The goal was unfortunate that they scored but the lads put a real shift in today.

"We've had a real tough week, we had Stoke last game and the game before that everyone's worked really hard. It's been a busy Christmas period but we've got a few points."

Southampton currently sit 17th in the Premier League table, level on points with 18th-placed Wigan Athletic.
