Arsenal reveal that they will be appealing Olivier Giroud's red card against Fulham.

Arsenal have confirmed that they have lodged an appeal against the red card that Olivier Giroud received during the weekend's match against Fulham in the Premier League.

The French striker was handed his marching orders for a challenge that he committed on Fulham winger Stanislav Manolev in the final minute of the encounter at Craven Cottage.

However, having reviewed the incident, the Gunners have decided to contest the decision. The Football Association will now meet tomorrow afternoon to consider the appeal.

Should the verdict be upheld, Giroud will be suspended for matches against Manchester United, Queens Park Rangers and Wigan Athletic.
