Danny Graham rescues Swansea a replay

Danny Graham strikes four minutes from time to earn Swansea City an FA Cup replay against Arsenal.

A late goal from Danny Graham rescued a replay for Swansea City from their home FA Cup encounter with Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

It looked as though goals from Lukas Podolski and Kieran Gibbs had secured Arsenal's spot in round four of the competition, only for Graham to intervene four minutes from time.

There were very few chances during the opening 45 minutes, with both defences on top.

The best opportunity fell to former Arsenal defender Kyle Bartley with 36 minutes gone, but he sent his headed effort from Jonathan de Guzman's free kick against the crossbar.

Having started the match on the bench, Swansea's leading goalscorer Michu was introduced into action in the 56th minute and it took him just over 60 seconds to break the deadlock.

He flicked the ball over Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker and with his second touch, the Spaniard guided the ball beyond the reach of goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

The visiting Gunners went on to spurn a handful of chances and as a result it looked as though Swansea were going to hold out.

However, with nine minutes remaining an overhit corner from Theo Walcott eventually found Lukas Podolski inside the area and the German substitute in turn prodded the ball into the net from close.

Then, just two minutes later it looked as though the Gunners had won the encounter when Gibbs exchanged passes with Mikel Arteta, before volleying inside Michel Vorm's near post from the edge of the area.

Swansea responded though and in the closing stages Graham took advantage of some slack Arsenal marking to send the ball into roof of the net from six yards out.

There was still time for Walcott to have goal ruled out for offside, but neither side was able to find a winner and they will now meet again at the Emirates Stadium.
