Arsene Wenger: 'Alexis Sanchez will be available for FA Cup final'

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger discloses that the club have come to an agreement with the Chile Football Federation to ensure Alexis Sanchez can play in the FA Cup final.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez will be able to play in the FA Cup final despite the likelihood of being called up for Chile's squad for the Copa America.

FIFA regulations stipulate that clubs must release their players to join up with their national squads 14 days before the start of the tournament, which starts on June 11.

However, Arsenal have managed to convince the Chile Football Federation to allow the 26-year-old to play against Aston Villa in the final on May 30 before leaving for the competition.

"[Chile] could call him up. We've got an agreement they won't call him. Anyway I am sure he would not go [before the FA Cup final]," Wenger told reporters.

If Chile progress to the latter stages of the competition, the Frenchman has conceded that he would have to give the forward time to rest from his exploits, which could see him miss the start of the next Premier League campaign.

He added: "That is not good news [for Arsenal] because they finish very late and if they go very far, he will miss the start of the season."

Sanchez has scored 22 goals in 46 appearances for the Gunners this season.
