A ligament injury forces Franck Ribery to sit out Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal later this week.

Bayern Munich have confirmed that they will be without winger Franck Ribery for Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Arsenal.

The French international has been ruled out because of a ligament injury that he picked up during the Bundesliga leaders' 3-2 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf on Saturday afternoon.

He is the third senior Bayern player that will not be included against the Gunners, with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jerome Boateng both suspended.

Former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben is also thought to be struggling to be fit for the tie because of a muscular complaint.
