Almeria boss Francisco has praised his side following their 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

The result moved Almeria four points clear of the La Liga relegation zone with 15 matches of the season remaining.

"We all knew how important this game was and not many people believed we could win it," Francisco told reporters at a press conference.

"But we have shown we can compete at this level and get results. We've now gone four home games without conceding a goal. We must congratulate the players for that.

"I'm very proud of this team and their commitment to taking us forward."

Almeria have won seven of their 23 league games this season.
