Jean-Guy Wallemme hoping to save Auxerre

Jean Guy-Wallemme reveals that Auxerre must win the majority of their remaining games to give them a chance of staying in Ligue 1.

Auxerre head coach Jean-Guy Wallemme has claimed that his side will have to win most of their remaining games to ensure they stay in Ligue 1.

Wallemme has been given the job to steer the club out of the relegation zone and the former Congo manager admits that it will be a tough test for the bottom-placed side.

Wallemme said: "Everyone has been affected by the fact that the club are bottom of the table and have been going through a bad patch for some time.

"We want to put smiles back on people's faces and instill some confidence. With so little time, we are going to have to win most of our games.

"There is no time to waste. We have had to get to the root of the problem straight away. We need to make sure the mood in the camp is positive and bring back a more confident atmosphere to the place."

If Auxerre are relegated this season it will signal the end of their 32-year stay in the top flight of French football.
