Roma, AC Milan join Liverpool in Eriksen hunt?

AC Milan and Roma will rival Liverpool for the signature of Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to reports.

Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen is involved in a three-way tug-of-war, with AC Milan and Roma joining Liverpool in the race for his signature, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has long been linked with a move to some of Europe's biggest clubs, but Ajax have so far kept hold of the starlet, who has already made 37 international appearances for Denmark.

However, with just 12 months remaining on his current contract, Forza Italian Football reports that the Dutch club may wish to cash in on the youngster, rather than letting him leave on a free transfer next summer.

Earlier in the summer, Borussia Dortmund were in talks with the midfielder, but their interest has waned since the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

With Eriksen keen on playing Champions League football, it seems as though AC Milan are the frontrunners in the race for Eriksen's signature, although former Liverpool player Ryan Babel said in July that he was trying to tempt Eriksen into a move to Anfield.

Eriksen made his first team debut for Ajax in 2010 and has since made 112 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring 25 goals.
