Clarence Seedorf: 'Udinese defeat leaves bitter taste'

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf admits that he is disappointed with his side's defeat against Udinese on Saturday evening.

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has said that he is disappointed with his side's 1-0 defeat against Udinese.

The Rossoneri lost their 10th league game of the season thanks to a second-half goal by Antonio Di Natale, and Seedorf believes that while his team created a number of chances, they were not clinical enough.

"Analyse the stats and you notice that it was a balanced match, with lots of chances on both sides," he told reporters. "In terms of individuals, [Mario] Balotelli, [Valter] Birsa and [Cristian] Zapata got some playing time. The result leaves a bitter taste. We need to start again. We have to think about Atletico Madrid.

"This match doesn't cancel out all the good things that we did beforehand. If anything we need to continue growing. The international matches had an impact, but I'm not looking for excuses. In the first-half we imposed our game, creating a lot of chances. The second half less so.

"Udinese didn't have that much possession. They're dangerous on the break, and they were fresher and in the second-half they put us in trouble. However, we need to think positive and be optimistic. We need to be convinced about our abilities to give a good performance and turn the situation around."

Milan are currently 10th in the Serie A table.
