Urby Emanuelson "sorry" to see Massimiliano Allegri leave

Urby Emanuelson is sad that Massimiliano Allegri was sacked, but pleased to have Clarence Seedorf back at AC Milan.

AC Milan midfielder Urby Emanuelson has revealed that it was disappointing that Massimiliano Allegri was sacked as the club's coach on Monday.

Emanuelson said that it was the players' fault that Allegri was dismissed, but believes they can improve under new coach Clarence Seedorf.

"I am happy to have Seedorf as a coach," De Telegraaf quotes him as saying. "However, the dismissal of another coach is always sad.

"I feel sorry for Allegri because it was not his fault we lost to Sassuolo. It was a painful time saying goodbye to Allegri at Milanello - he was sorry. I've always had a lot of respect for Seedorf.

"He took me under his wing when I arrived in 2011 - he's a real gentleman."

Seedorf played for Milan between 2002 and 2012.
