Half-Time Report: AC Milan level with Roma

AC Milan and Roma go into the halfway stage of their Serie A encounter locked at 1-1 after goals from Mattia Destro and Cristian Zapata.

AC Milan are on course for a third consecutive draw having come from a goal down to go into half time of their Serie A match with Roma tied at 1-1.

The visitors enjoyed the first chance of the match when Gervinho made his way down the left wing before cutting inside and curling an effort towards goal that was well held by Christian Abbiati.

Roma took the lead six minutes later, however, as Mattia Destro finished off a good team move by converting Kevin Strootman's cross from close range.

Milan levelled things up right on the half-hour mark when Cristian Zapata got on the end of a corner that had been flicked on at the front post, stooping down to nod home from a couple of yards out.

Roma almost regained the lead immediately when Abbiati's poor punch gifted the ball to Michael Bradley inside the six-yard box, but his poked effort was cleared off the line.

As things stand, Roma would close the gap on leaders Juventus to five points, while Milan would move up two places to 10th in the Serie A table.
