Scottish Premiership Roundup: Wins for Aberdeen, Partick Thistle

League-leaders Dundee United are pegged back by Aberdeen and St Mirren move away from the foot of the table with a win away at St Johnstone.

League-leaders Dundee United have been pegged back by Aberdeen, who scored three goals away from home, and there was a win for Partick Thistle, who also found the net three times.

Dundee went behind to an early goal from Andrew Considine, but soon levelled through Gary Harkins. It was Aberdeen's turn to take the lead again just before the half-hour mark, James McPake putting the ball into his own net much to the centre-back's dismay.

David Clarkson brought Dundee back level, but, in what was an end-to-end game, Aberdeen had one more say. David Goodwillie gave the visitors the lead once more on 64 minutes, pegging back the league-leaders and making sure Aberdeen stay unbeaten against Dundee in six games.

Partick Thistle were good value for their win against Motherwell, with goals for Stuart Bannigan, Kris Doolan and Stephen O'Donnell making sure Zaine Francis-Angol's 73rd minute strike counted for nothing.

Elsewhere, St Mirren left it late to snatch a late win away to St Johnstone, Adam Drury pinching a goal for the visitors with five minutes remaining to move further away from Ross County, who are in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom of the league if they do not start picking up points soon.

Results in full: Dundee United 2-3 Aberdeen, Partick Thistle 3-1 Motherwell, St Johnstone 1-2 St Mirren
