British pair Jack Laugher, Chris Mears reach World Championships final

Team GB's Jack Laugher and Chris Mears reach the 3m synchronised diving final at the World Aquatics Championships after finishing fourth in the preliminary round.

Team GB's Jack Laugher and Chris Mears have reached the 3m synchronised diving final at the World Aquatics Championships in Kazan.

The British duo sealed their place after finishing fourth in the preliminary round this morning, with a score of 96.90 for their final forward somersault dive assuring them of progress.

Laugher and Mears scored 417.33 for their dives to take fourth spot ahead of Italy's Andrea Chiarabini and Giovanni Tocci.

Russia's Ilya Zakharov and Evgeny Kuznetsov took first place with a score of 448.68, while China's Cuan Yao and Kai Qin came second with their total of 434.43.

The final will take place later this evening.
