Tom Daley marches into 10m platform final

Great Britain's Tom Daley secures a place in the final of the men's 10m platform.

Tom Daley has booked a place in the final of the men's 10m platform with a consistent performance in the last 18.

The Team GB hopeful came away with an impressive points haul of 521.10 to make it through to the last 12 in fourth place.

China's Qiu Bo is the one to beat in the final. The world champion put in a stellar performance in the semi-final to qualify with the highest score of 563.55.

His compatriot Lin Yue was also in good form, and is among the favourites for silver after coming in second with a points tally of 541.80.

David Boudia of the United States finished in third with more than 10 points more than Daley.

Defending champion Matthew Mitcham of Australia crashed out of the event after coming in 13th behind Canada's Riley McCormack.

The men's 10m platform final takes place at 8.30pm this evening.
