Ian White ready for World Grand Prix crowd

Ian White admits that he is expecting the crowd to be against him when he faces Northern Ireland's Michael Mansell at the World Grand Prix next week.

Ian White is hopeful that he can deal with a passionate crowd when he faces Michael Mansell at the World Grand Prix in Dublin.

Despite being from North of the Irish border, Mansell is expected to have the majority of the crowd's support at the tournament in Dublin, and White has admitted that he will have to find a way to maintain his focus in the 'double in, double out' competition.

The 44-year-old told the Stoke Sentinel: "When you draw an Irish or Northern Irish lad, you know that you're going to get a few thousand in the crowd against you.

"Hopefully, I can just concentrate on the game, get off and get the crowd on my side towards the end. I've got a lot of friends in Ireland so they will be cheering for me as well."

White's best showing in Dublin was when he reached the last 16 in 2012.
