Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson withdraw from European Darts Trophy

Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson withdraw from this weekend's European Darts Trophy in Leipzig.

Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson have opted to pull out of the European Darts Trophy, which takes place in Leipzig this weekend.

The withdrawal of the pair has resulted in the two highest-ranked non seeds in the Pro Tour Order of Merit, Terry Jenkins and Michael Smith, being installed as 15th and 16th seeds respectively.

The tournament in Germany represents the final chance for players to secure their place at the World Grand Prix which takes place in Dublin next month.

The "double in, double out" tournament will involve the top 16 in the PDC Order of Merit, 14 players from the Pro Tour Order of Merit as well as the top two Irish players who haven't already qualified for the competition.
