Team Sky sign Jonathan Tiernan-Locke

Jonathan Tiernan-Locke signs a two-year deal with Team Sky from next season.

Tour of Britain winner Jonathan Tiernan-Locke has been rewarded with a two-year contract at Team Sky starting next season.

Tiernan-Locke, who will make the step-up from Endura Racing, has said that he is excited to make the move to the "world's best team".

"It's an incredible opportunity for me to step up from the UCI Continental ranks, and although I've really enjoyed my time at Endura, I couldn't pass up the chance to join the world's best team," Tiernan-Locke told Team Sky's website.

"When you look at the season Team Sky have had, to even be considered by them was a massive honour for me, so I'm over the moon to be riding for them in 2013."

Tiernan-Locke won four stages at this year's UCI Europe Tour.
