Sir Chris Hoy backs Sir Bradley Wiggins for hour record

Sir Chris Hoy says that Sir Bradley Wiggins is "definitely capable" of breaking the world hour record.

Sir Chris Hoy has said that he believes Sir Bradley Wiggins will break the world hour record on June 7.

Wiggins announced earlier today that he will race at the Lee Valley VeloPark to try to beat the distance that was set by Rohan Dennis in February.

"If Bradley really sets his mind to it you would not bet against him breaking the world record," Hoy told BBC Sport.

"Everything he has set out to achieve he has. It's a big challenge, a big test, but I think Bradley is definitely capable of breaking the record."

The current record that Wiggins has to beat is 52.491km, which was set by Dennis in Switzerland.
