Mark Cavendish is looking forward to 2013 after pulling on the Omega Pharma-Quick Step colours for the first time earlier today.

Mark Cavendish has said that he has "immediate synchrony" with his new team, Omega Pharma-Quick Step.

The 27-year-old's three-year deal with the Belgium-based outfit came into force today, ending his 12-month stint at Team Sky.

The Brit told the team's website: "When you come to a new group, you never know how it's going to go or how to behave. Instead, with this group there was immediate synchrony.

"Everyone here, staff and athletes, really loves cycling and is psyched to be a part of this group that has such a great history. For me, it's important to be a part of this and to feel the faith around me.

"2013 already looks like is going to be full of events. I want to do well and give back to this fantastic group that has placed so much faith in me."

The 2011 Tour de France green jersey winner trained in the official team jersey for the first time today in Tuscany in Italy.

Cavendish will make his OPQS debut in the Tour de San Luis in Argentina later this month.
