Jermaine Blackwood: First Test century is "important milestone"

West Indies batsman Jermaine Blackwood says that he has reached an "important milestone" after scoring his first century in Test cricket.

Jermaine Blackwood has described scoring his first Test century during the West Indies' first innings in their Test against England earlier this evening as an "important milestone" for him.

The batsman, who is making his sixth appearance in the longest form of the game, finished 112 not out as the hosts were dismissed for 295 in Antigua.

The 23-year-old told Sky Sports News: "It was hard, I took a couple of blows, but that's why it's Test cricket.

"It's a very big difference scoring a Test century, it's a very important milestone for me. No-one remembers you for half-centuries. I'm looking forward to many more."

The West Indies trail by 220 runs at the end of day three.
