Bangladesh have taken two quick wickets against South Africa to halt the tourists' progress on day one of the first Test in Chittagong.
The Proteas began the afternoon session on 104-1, having lost Stiaan van Zyl during the morning session.
Opener Dean Elgar began the afternoon alongside Faf du Plessis in the middle and the pair made steady progress, taking their side to a more comfortable position following the early dismissal of Van Zyl.
However, their partnership of 78 came to an end when Elgar was caught behind by Liton Das off the bowling of Taijul Islam just three runs short of a half-century.
Bangladesh nabbed another wicket just two balls later when Du Plessis fell for 48, having been trapped lbw by Shakib Al Hasan.
Hashim Amla and Temba Bavuma saw South Africa safely through to tea in the overs that followed, and the pair will resume the evening session on five not out and 13 not out respectively.
