Peter Siddle has claimed that Australia have put the pressure on Vernon Philander by refusing to allow the South African seamer in the first Test of the series.
Philander took just one wicket in Centurion as Australia claimed a 281-run victory and Siddle believes that Australia's positive approach is making it difficult for the seamer to enjoy the success he's used to achieving at Test level.
"The way the boys attacked him and approached him the other day, getting off strike and swapping left and right-handers, that puts the pressure back on him rather than him building all that pressure," Siddle told reporters.
"The boys have learnt how to play him. We're not sitting back and worried about what he's going to bring. We can put it back on him, build the pressure and keep building that on the team."
Philander has taken 106 wickets in just 21 Test matches for the Proteas.
