Marcus Trescothick: Somerset 'buzzing' for Chris Gayle's arrival

Talking to Sports Mole, Marcus Trescothick admits that there is much anticipation around Chris Gayle's impending arrival at Somerset.

Marcus Trescothick has told Sports Mole that there is a "real buzz" around Somerset as they await the arrival of Chris Gayle.

It was announced in March that the big-hitting West Indies international would arrive at the County Ground later this month to play up to six T20 Blast matches.

Speaking about the 35-year-old, former England international Trescothick is hopeful that he will have a big impact on the club during his stint.

"[It's] very exciting. He is one of the biggest names in the game and there is a real buzz about the place regarding his arrival. Hopefully he can score some big runs," said the 35-year-old.

Gayle, who has hit more sixes in the ongoing Indian Premier League than any other batsman, will join Somerset once his commitments with the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise have concluded.
