Adelaide Strikers still unbeaten after win over Brisbane Heat

Adelaide Strikers remain unbeaten in the Big Bash after claiming a five-wicket win over Brisbane Heat.

Adelaide Strikers have made it four wins from four in the Big Bash league by easing to a five-wicket victory over Brisbane Heat this morning.

After Adelaide won the toss and chose to put their opponents in to bat first, Brisbane raced to 60-0, but openers James Peirson (27) and Peter Forrest (33) were both out in the space of six runs.

Nathan Reardon was the only other batsman to make it past the 30-run mark as the Heat struggled to build solid partnerships on their way to setting the strikers a target of 153 for victory.

Adelaide's reply got off to a slow start, with four of their top five batsman bowled inside the opening 10 overs, reducing the team to 63-4.

However, Alexander Ross joined Travis Head at the crease and the run rate increased, with the latter hitting three sixes in an 87-run partnership which ended when Ross was caught by Peirson in the penultimate over.

Captain Johan Botha made sure of the win though, coming to the middle with the team needing just three to win and hitting a six to seal the victory, while Head finished with an unbeaten 57.
