Lewis Hatchett signs new two-year deal with Sussex

Seam bowler Lewis Hatchett signs a new two-year contract with Sussex, keeping him at the club until 2016.

Sussex have announced that seam bowler Lewis Hatchett has put pen to paper on a new two-year contract.

The 24-year-old, who took 22 wickets in eight County Championship matches this year, has secured his future in Hove until the end of 2016.

"I'm really happy to sign for another two years," said Hatchett. "If I can keep improving like I did last year, and now that I am fully fit, then I know I can make an impact in the first team across all three formats.

"I was really happy to have performed roles like death bowling in one-day cricket and I felt I also improved in four-day cricket. If I have another good winter and work hard then I won't be far from where I want to be."

Hatchett took 20 wickets in one-day competition last season.
