Chris Gayle agrees Melbourne Renegades switch

West Indian all-rounder Chris Gayle will play for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League later this year.

The Melbourne Renegades have confirmed the signing of Chris Gayle for the 2015-16 Big Bash League.

The 35-year-old, who has previously played for the Sydney Thunder, will be available for the entirety of the tournament.

"It's exciting to be coming to the Melbourne Renegades in the sporting capital of Australia. I'm looking forward to seeing the fans, getting to know the city a little more and helping the team into the finals," the West Indian international told the club's official website.

New coach David Saker added: "Chris's abilities and experience goes without saying. He has tremendous skills both as an explosive T20 batsman but also as that genuine all-rounder you need."

At present, Gayle averages 42.21 in domestic T20 matches.
