Paul Collingwood signs new Durham deal

Paul Collingwood signs a new three-year deal with his home county Durham.

Paul Collingwood has signed a new three-year deal with his home county Durham.

The 35-year-old has been with the side since 1995, but was linked with a switch to Derbyshire.

"I'm a Durham lad through and through and I've really enjoyed being back in the dressing room with the guys," he said.

"The club is ambitious and the quality of the team shows how committed we are to winning more silverware over the coming years and I want to be part of that - bringing more sporting success back to the North East."

The former England all-rounder retired from international Test cricket after the successful 2010/11 Ashes series.
