Chennai Super Kings win IPL Fair Play Award

Chennai Super Kings, who are battling spot-fixing charges, win the Indian Premier League's Fair Play Award.

Chennai Super Kings have won the Indian Premier League's Fair Play Award.

The Tamil Nadu franchise, who are battling spot-fixing charges, received the honour following Sunday's IPL final, which they lost by 23 runs to the Mumbai Indians.

Rajasthan Royals came second in the Fair Play table, despite their involvement in the ongoing corruption investigation.

Three Rajasthan players - Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and S Sreesanth - all of whom have since had their contracts terminated, were arrested by Delhi police on May 16.

Chennai chief executive Gurunath Meiyappan, who is the son-in-law of Indian cricket board president N Srinivasan, was then arrested by Mumbai police on Friday.

The winner of the Fair Play Award is decided based on points given to the teams by umpires on a game-by-game basis.
