New Zealand claim 119-run victory over Pakistan to win one-day series

New Zealand secure a 2-0 one-day international series win over Pakistan with a 119-run victory in Napier.

New Zealand have secured a 2-0 whitewash over Pakistan in their one-day international series by claiming a 119-run victory in Napier.

Kane Williamson top-scored for the Black Caps with 112 runs, while unbeaten Ross Taylor also contributed with 102 as the hosts posted 369-5.

Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad began Pakistan's reply strongly by reaching a combined 111 runs unscathed, but Nathan McCullum eventually found the breakthrough.

Shehzad was caught out off McCullum's delivery just five runs after hitting a half-century, and the New Zealand bowler added a second wicket to his tally by dismissing Younis Khan (11) a few overs later.

Momentum swung in the hosts' direction when Grant Elliott dismissed Hafeez, who hit 86 off 89 balls, and wickets began to tumble, with Shahid Afridi (11), Umar Akmal (4) and Haris Sohail (6) all falling in quick succession.

Elliott grabbed his second wicket by taking out Sarfraz Ahmed (13), leaving Misbah-ul-Haq and Bilawal Bhatti to save Pakistan's innings.

However, it wasn't to be as the tourists were eventually bowled all out for 250.
