Last year's IPL champions Mumbai Indians have registered just their second win in seven games this evening thanks to a 19-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Bangalore won the toss and chose to field, taking Ben Dunk's wicket with the first ball of the fourth over after the Aussie had scored 15 quick runs.

Rohit Sharma did most of the damage for Mumbai, scoring an unbeaten 59 off just 35 balls that included three fours and four sixes.

He was ably assisted by Kieron Pollard (43), with Mumbai reaching 187-5 from their 20 overs.

Bangalore's openers got off to a fine start at better than a run a ball, with Chris Gayle scoring 38 and Parthiv Patel adding 26.

Both men were bowled by Harbhajan Singh and it was the Royal Challengers' middle-order that let them down, with Virat Kohli (35) and Rilee Rossouw (24) the only men getting into double figures as they fell 19 runs short.

Bangalore's tournament record now stands at three wins and four losses.
