Second Test between India, South Africa washed out for third day running

Play in the second Test between India and South Africa is cancelled for a third day in a row due to rain in Bangalore.

Play in the second Test between India and South Africa in Bangalore has been cancelled for the third day in a row due to rain.

The afternoon session on day four was due to get underway at 2pm local time (8.30am UK time), but a fresh drizzle kept the outfield unplayable.

The teams have not stepped onto the field in three days as play on Sunday and Monday was also washed out due to storms that have been hitting India.

The hosts are currently 80 without loss in their first innings after South Africa were bowled out for 214 runs, but due to the delays the Test is destined for a draw.

Play will resume tomorrow morning, weather permitting.
