England secure a T20 series victory over New Zealand thanks to a 10-wicket win over the Black Caps at Wellington.

England cruised to a 10-wicket victory over New Zealand in the third and final T20 game as they secured a 2-1 series victory.

Alex Hales scored 80 off 42 balls, which included nine fours and four sixes, as he shared a 143-run partnership with Michael Lumb, who scored 53, as the tourists cantered to their victory target of 140 at Wellington with 44 balls to spare.

The Black Caps' bowlers couldn't contain England's opening duo as Ian Butler went for 41 runs in just 2.4 overs while Mitchell McClenaghan also struggled going for 38 off his three.

Earlier, skipper Stuart Broad led the way for his side taking three wickets for just 15 runs, and he was backed up by Jade Dernbach who struck three times.

While James Tredwell and Joe Root took one wicket apiece, as they restricted the hosts to 139-7.

Martin Guptill top-scored for the Kiwis as he notched 59 runs off 55 balls and he was supported by a knock 26 by Brendon McCullum. However, no other batsman reached 20.
