England's Matt Prior to miss Ashes warm-up clash with calf tear

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior is ruled out of England's warm-up match against a New South Wales XI this week due to a calf tear.

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior's fitness for the first Ashes Test in Brisbane remains in doubt after he was ruled out of his side's warm-up match this week.

The 31-year-old has been replaced by Jonny Bairstow in the team to play a New South Wales XI due to a low-grade calf tear.

Prior suffered the injury during Saturday's draw against Australia A, but coach Andy Flower believes that the wicketkeeper will be fit for the first Test.

Prior wrote on Twitter: "Obviously very disappointed to be missing the game at SCG but doing everything possible to be ready for the 1st Test at the Gabba!"

The first Test gets underway in Brisbane on November 21.
