Graeme Swann bowls 20 overs on his return from an elbow operation but is unable to claim a wicket in a County Championship fixture.

England spin bowler Graeme Swann failed to take any wickets during his first outing since undergoing surgery on his elbow earlier today.

The 34-year-old turned out for his county side Nottinghamshire as they took on Durham at Trent Bridge.

However, despite having bowled 20 overs, he was unable to dismiss any of the Durham batsmen. He was also hit for six when Steven Mullaney cleared the boundary with a shot over long-on.

Swann, who had an operation last month, is expected to miss next month's Test series against New Zealand, but provided that there is no setback, he will return for the Ashes later this summer.
