Luke Wright not going to Indian Premier League

England all-rounder Luke Wright decides to not play in the Indian Premier League so that he can concentrate on his commitments at Sussex.

England international Luke Wright has confirmed that he will not take part in the Indian Premier League, which gets underway on April 9.

The 30-year-old has previously featured in the competition for the Pune Warriors and there had been suggestions that he would return this year.

However, having been appointed the captain of Sussex, coupled with the recent death of teammate Matthew Hobden, Wright has decided that the time is not right for him to have a stint in India.

"I will not be going into this year's IPL auction," the all-rounder wrote on Twitter.

"After taking on the Sussex captaincy this year, which I'm really excited about, and with the sad and tragic loss of our teammate Hobsy, it just isn't the right time. Maybe in the future I will get another chance but not this season."

Wright made the switch to Sussex from Leicestershire in 2004.
