Paul Collingwood eager to improve team confidence

Paul Collingwood claims that his first job as a coach with England will be to improve team morale.

Paul Collingwood has insisted that one of his key roles in the England camp will be to improve team spirit ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup.

England's former ODI captain will join the current squad for the tour of the West Indies later this month and he believes that he can help with morale following a disappointing winter in Australia.

"I am looking forward to getting over there," Collingwood told Sky Sports News.

"I guess at the moment, the one area where I can help straight away is in trying to create a more relaxed and fun environment.

"You play your best cricket when you're having a bit of fun. Obviously we are going to be doing a lot of hard work as well but if the lads can go out feeling as confident as possible it is a crucial factor."

England will play three ODIs and two T20s in the West Indies before heading to Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup.
