England captain Stuart Broad was pleased with his side's seven-wicket win against New Zealand in the World Twenty20 Super Eights on Saturday.

Luke Wright scored 76 runs and Steven Finn took three wickets for 16, as England retained their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds of the tournament.

"Obviously, it was a must-win game for us - and the way we won it was really good," said Broad on Saturday. "The guys bowled fantastically well. Finny [Steven Finn] set the tone brilliantly for us... getting two key men out.

"I always think if you've got a batter and bowler who have a chance of winning the man-of-the-match award, you've played well. I think we had that today.

"We were delighted with [a target of] 148 [for six]. We just needed one big partnership, and Wrighty [Luke Wright] and 'Morgs' [Eoin Morgan] obviously delivered that."

A victory over Sri Lanka will almost book England's berth in the semi-finals.
