Sports Mole brings you live text commentary of the fifth one-day international between India and England in Dharamsala.

England headed into the fifth one-day international with series winners India looking to restore some pride from their final match of the tour.

An impressive bowling display from the tourists saw India dismissed for 226, with Tim Bresnan taking 4-45 on a fast pitch in Dharamsala.

A century from Ian Bell (113*) as well as contributions from Eoin Morgan (40*) and Joe Root (31) in response was enough to guide England to victory with seven wickets to spare.

3.06amGood morning everyone and welcome to today's coverage of the final ODI between these two teams. India may have already won the series but a victory today will give England an important confidence boost ahead of the tour to New Zealand.

3.08amWe should have team news in around 25 minutes but before then, there is a bit of news from the England camp. Graham Gooch has stepped down from his role as one-day batting coach in order to concentrate on his duties with the Test side. Graham Thorpe will be his replacement.

3.13amEngland continue to reshuffle their coaches but it remains to be seen whether the changes will deliver success. Ashley Giles will be disappointed with his first series as head coach and the players will have to quickly become accustomed to the new leaders of the team.

3.18amOn the other hand, Indian fans will be delighted with their side's response following the Test series loss. A younger side has shown some of the senior players how it should be done and India have once again proven that their forte is one-day cricket.

3.22amBack to today's game and this pitch is reportedly one of the fastest in India. Not much competition, admittedly but there could be some support for the quicker bowlers.

3.26amConditions today will certainly be much cooler than players are used to in India. Dharamsala is located in the north of India and England's players have been training in wool hats in the lead up to the game. Just like being at home!

3.32amEngland have won the toss and will bowl first

3.34amTeam news: England make one change to their side as Chris Woakes comes in for Jade Dernbach. Meanwhile, India are unchanged.

3.36amDespite his reported elbow problem, Bresnan keeps his place in the side. There's been plenty of debate surrounding Dernbach this week and it does seem that the seamer is at a bit of a crossroads in his career. Highly talented but it's been a poor series for the Surrey ace.

3.39amIt's an unbelievable setting for a match to be played and captain Cook agrees: "It's once in a lifetime to play here - it's an incredible venue for cricket. When we've challenged, we've played well in this series and we're looking to do today."

3.42amDhoni has admitted to the Indian broadcaster that there may be some encouragement for the quick bowlers this morning but India's batsmen have been in good form and they'll be confident this morning.

3.47amIndia: G Gambhir, RG Sharma, V Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, SK Raina, MS Dhoni*†, RA Jadeja, R Ashwin, B Kumar, I Sharma, Shami Ahmed

England: AN Cook*, IR Bell, KP Pietersen, JE Root, EJG Morgan, JC Buttler†, SR Patel, CR Woakes, JC Tredwell, ST Finn, TT Bresnan

3.55amFive minutes away from play in Dharamsala. England will be desperate for early wickets as they look to end this tour on a high.

IND 0-0Steven Finn will bowl the first over of the day. Here we go!

IND 5-0Finn starts with a big wide before adjusting his line later in the over to beat Gambhir's outside edge with a gorgeous delivery. India's opener attempts a leave but the ball comes back into him, striking his forearm and deflecting to safety. Gambhir takes advantage of a poor delivery to flick the ball off his pads and earn four through square leg.

IND 9-0Bresnan takes the white ball from the other end and he almost finds an edge when Sharma flirts with a delivery outside off stump. Great start from the Yorkshire bowler until a textbook cover drive brings Sharma four runs from the final ball.

IND 13-0Finn continues with a wider approach before once again getting a delivery to hold its line, agonisingly beating Gambhir's edge. A shorter ball allows the left-hander to free his arms and loft one over point for another boundary. Good start from the hosts.

IND 13-1Wicket! Sharma (4) c Tredwell b Bresnan

IND 13-1Bresnan makes the breakthrough midway through a new over with a swinging delivery that catches the edge of Sharma's bat, allowing Tredwell to take a smart catch at second slip.

IND 13-2Wicket! Kohli (0) c Tredwell b Kohli

IND 13-2Kohli goes first ball! Another swinging delivery encourages a lazy shot from Kohli and Tredwell juggles the ball at second slip before taking the catch. The crowd are stunned and Bresnan is on a hat-trick.

IND 13-2Great first ball to new arrival Yuvraj Singh but the left-hander does well to survive. Brilliant from Bresnan and it's a double wicket maiden.

IND 14-2Much better over from Finn to Gambhir and England's quickest bowler is finding some sharp pace but not the swing that Bresnan is from the other end. A leg-bye ruins a maiden but England are on top now.

IND 23-2Bresnan is continuing to pitch it up and Gambhir will not be afraid of driving the ball so it looks a good tactic for England. Too short from the Yorkshire bowler and Gambhir cuts the ball square of the wicket for four runs. Another boundary from Gambhir and you won't see too many shots better than this one as he punches the ball straight past Bresnan to the rope. Nine scored in the over.

IND 24-2Finn's pace has Gambhir jumping at the crease and a bouncer is inches away from catching the outside edge.

IND 24-3Wicket! Yuvraj (0) c Morgan b Finn

IND 24-3A nudge brings on Yuvraj on strike and he departs without troubling the scorers. The left-hander attempts to turn the ball onto the leg-side but a leading edge flies to Morgan at point and England have another wicket. Raina in next for the hosts.

IND 24-3Finn ends the over with a smile after delivering a sharp bouncer straight at Raina's shoulder. Superb from the England pace bowler and India desperately need a partnership.

IND 33-3First bowling change of the morning as Woakes replaces Bresnan and he almost has a wicket immediately when Gambhir swings wildly at a wider delivery. India's opener then picks the gap in the covers to earn four more despite Morgan's best efforts in the deep. A flick to fine leg produces a single before Woakes has an lbw appeal quickly rejected by Steve Davis. Raina is off the mark with four through square leg and it's nine runs from the over.

IND 35-3Finn is too straight at the start of a new over and Gambhir takes advantage by picking up a single to fine leg. Raina is too early on a shot later in the over and the ball flies just wide of Finn, with the pace bowler unable to take a stunning catch. There is a leg gully in place but Gambhir takes a risk by prodding the ball wide of Bell for a single.

IND 35-3Much better over from Woakes and he tempts Raina into a false shot outside off stump but there's no edge this time. However, there is an edge one ball later but Tredwell can't take a third catch at second slip. It's a great effort in the slips but he just can't hold on.

IND 35-3England can smell a wicket here as Gambhir cuts the ball just short of Morgan at point. Finn follows that up with a beauty to beat the outside edge of the bat, bringing gasps from the two slips. Superb over from the Middlesex ace and it's another maiden.

IND 49-3Woakes strays slightly and Raina gratefully nudges the ball off his hip for four runs before driving the next delivery to the extra cover boundary. Two more for Raina through square-leg and that's 4,000 runs for him in one-day cricket. A poor over ends with another boundary as Raina cuts powerfully for four more runs.

IND 49-3Cook wants to bring Bresnan back into the attack but the umpire informs England's skipper that the seamer has been off the pitch for too long to bowl and the ball goes to Tredwell instead.

IND 49-4Wicket! Gambhir (24) c Bell b Tredwell

IND 49-4The forced change works for England as Tredwell removes Gambhir. India's opener will be disappointed with a lazy cut shot straight to Bell at backward point. Big wicket for England.

IND 50-4It's the skipper who will have to rebuild things for India as Dhoni comes to the crease. A single is taken through cover before Raina is left perplexed by a glorious delivery from Tredwell. Superb start from England's spinner and he now has 10 wickets in the series.

IND 56-4Bresnan is allowed back now and he replaces Woakes, who has struggled this morning. Dhoni reaches the boundary for the first time with a crunching drive in front of point. The Indian skipper takes a couple of steps down the pitch and is struck on the pads but Steve Davis quickly dismisses the appeal. Six scored in the over.

IND 57-4Raina gets off strike at the start of Tredwell's new over. Dhoni gets outside the line to secure his safety despite some hopeful lbw appeals from the England players. Another good over from Tredwell, just a single scored. Time for a drinks break.

IND 58-4Bresnan begins a new over with a wide but he quickly finds his accuracy and tests Raina with a sharp bouncer. Good work from England.

IND 61-4Dhoni takes a single to fine leg from Tredwell's first ball before an inside edge brings Raina another run. A big sweep is played by Dhoni but there's no contact and that will keep Tredwell interested. Three from the over.

IND 65-4Bresnan catches the edge of Dhoni's bat but the contact is enough to earn the skipper a single before Raina hands the strike back with a push onto the leg-side. Four scored in total and India are still trying to recover in Dharamsala. One more wicket could spark a big collapse.

IND 71-4Tredwell begins with four dot balls but a loopy delivery invites Raina to charge down the pitch and loft four runs straight down the ground. Superb shot from the left-hander.

IND 77-4Finn is back for a new spell and he immediately beats Dhoni's outside edge. The Indian duo negotiate the pace well and there's a boundary for Dhoni through the covers when Finn is too full later in the over.

IND 79-4Tredwell finds some big spin in the over but Raina does well to survive, picking up a single from the fourth ball. Dhoni adds another single to keep the strike.

IND 79-5Wicket! Dhoni (15) lbw b Finn

IND 79-5Massive moment in the innings as Dhoni is forced to walk back to the dressing room. Finn gets one to come back into the Indian skipper and Steve Davis doesn't hesitate in raising the finger.

IND 79-5Jadeja is greeted with a superb delivery by Finn just outside off stump and the all-rounder has no answer but crucially for India, there's no edge. Perfect line throughout the over and it's a wicket maiden from Finn.

IND 83-5Joe Root comes on for a bowl and Raina is immediately off strike with a single to fine leg. Jadeja is off the mark midway through the over with two to deep square-leg before an optimistic appeal for lbw is quickly dismissed. Four scored in the over.

IND 84-5Finn is replaced by Woakes, who must bowl better than he did earlier. It's much better from the Warwickshire man and he almost shocks Jadeja with one that swings back and just misses off stump. One single from the over.

IND 89-5Root has his hands on his head when he finds Jadeja's edge but the ball evades Cook at slip and the left-hander has four runs. A nudge to mid-on brings another run before Raina is struck on the pads by a straight one. No lbw given and England must move on.

IND 91-5Buttler takes a catch down leg-side and there is a noise but the ball appears to deflect off Jadeja's thigh pad and the umpire agrees. Two runs from Woakes's over.

IND 91-5The replay of Root's lbw appeal doesn't make for good viewing from the umpire's point of view. It was out, plain and simple.

IND 101-5The Indian duo trade singles in Root's new over before Raina charges down the pitch to launch a huge six straight down the ground. Superb shot and India need more of that. 10 runs from the over and the century is up for India.

IND 104-5Woakes is looking much more accurate since his return but the Indian pair are untroubled in the over as they add three more to the total.

IND 106-5Tredwell is back for a new spell and he's still carrying a threat even during this quiet period of the match. Two singles from the over and England are doing a good job of keeping the run-rate down.

IND 117-5Samit Patel is introduced to the attack and India may target the Notts all-rounder now. Four singles are taken by the batsmen before Jadeja dances down the pitch to smash the ball for six straight down the ground. One more run follows and it's 11 from the over.

IND 119-5Buttler whips off the bails when Jadeja lunges forward but the third umpire confirms a not out decision following a replay. Two runs taken from Tredwell's over and India will be happy with this period of play. The current partnership is now worth 40.

IND 127-5Patel is quickly replaced following that poor over and Root is back into the attack. Two singles come early in the over before Raina reaches fifty with a lofted drive over extra cover. Good series for the left-hander and he's played superbly so far today. Eight runs from the over.

IND 127-5Tredwell races through a maiden over and it comes at a good time with India settling into a nice rhythm. Time for another drinks break.

IND 134-5Root continues his spell, offering Raina a single at the start of a new over. Jadeja decides it's time to accelerate as he charges once again to clear the ropes with a superb shot over long-on.

IND 136-5Raina lofts the returning Patel through mid-wicket for a single before a quick run is quickly abandoned by Jadeja, with Morgan lurking at point. Much better from Patel as he concedes just two runs from the over.

IND 144-5India are forced to take the batting powerplay and Cook responds by bringing Bresnan back into the attack. Three singles are taken in as many deliveries before Raina punishes a freebie from Bresnan to collect four runs past point. Not the best of returns for Bresnan but good cricket by India.

IND 150-5Tredwell doesn't take much of a rest, replacing Patel with the ball. He starts with a wide down the leg-side before Cook puts down a chance behind square on the leg-side following a wild shot from Raina. The same batsman takes another risk when he pushes a shot straight into the air, with Tredwell getting fingertips on the ball. Six scored in the over.

IND 155-5Raina gets off strike at the beginning of a new Bresnan over. Jadeja takes a single on the leg-side before Raina tries his best to smash a wide delivery over the head of Buttler. The singles are flowing for India at the moment and England could do with another wicket. Five more runs to the total.

IND 157-5Tredwell begins his final over by offering Jadeja single to mid-wicket. Raina adds another with a late cut backward of point.

IND 157-6Wicket! Jadeja (39) c Bell b Tredwell

IND 157-6Tredwell strikes in his final over of the series. Jadeja attempts to launch the ball out of the ground but his mistimed shot loops into the hands of Bell on the off-side. crucial wicket for England.

IND 157-6One wicket and two runs from Tredwell's final over. Superb series from the spinner and he finishes with figures of 2-25.

IND 161-6Finn is back for a new spell and Raina quickly gets out of the firing line thanks to a leg-bye. Ashwin is off the mark with a single to square-leg before the strike is handed back to the new batsman by Raina. One more run follows and it's four from the final over of the powerplay.

IND 173-6Patel replaces Tredwell and he can't keep Ashwin from reaching the non-striker's end at the start of the over. Raina skips down the pitch and his slightly miscued shot flies to the mid-wicket boundary rope for four runs. A much better shot follows but the result is the same. Three more singles are added and it's a very good over for India.

IND 177-6Woakes is back for a new spell and this is a very important period in the game. Raina can only pull a single to mid-wicket and Ashwin continues the flow of runs with a flick to square-leg.

IND 177-7Wicket! Raina (83) c Bell b Woakes

IND 177-7The plan to target Woakes was obvious but Raina's superb knock comes to an end as he pulls the ball straight to Bell at mid-wicket. Woakes is delighted and that's an important wicket for Cook's men.

IND 177-7Kumar is the new batsman and he safely negotiates the final two deliveries. India in trouble again and Cook will want to bowl the hosts out.

IND 181-7Patel continues with the ball and Ashwin takes a single following a half-stop by Bell at cover. Kumar is off the mark with a run to long-on. Four scored in total and that's much better from Patel.

IND 186-7Kumar flirts with a wider delivery from Woakes but there's no edge. Too short and too wide from Woakes later in the over and Kumar gratefully cuts the ball to the point boundary. A thick edge produces a single. Five from the over, six left in the innings.

IND 188-7Patel wastes no time in bowling his over and it's good from the Notts ace, with just two runs being scored.

IND 196-7A short ball from Woakes is pulled to Pietersen in the deep by Ashwin, resulting in two runs. Good running from the Indian pair as they react quickly to earn a leg-bye. Kumar picks the gap on the off-side to loft a short and wide delivery to the boundary rope. Eight runs taken from the over.

IND 211-7Superb shot from Kumar as he drives the ball over cover to pick up four more runs in style. Oh no! Ashwin smashes the ball high into the air but Tredwell can't take a difficult catch on the mid-wicket boundary and drops the ball over the rope to give India six more. Ashwin then drops to one knee and sweeps through square-leg for four runs.

IND 211-8Wicket! Ashwin (19) c Finn b Patel

IND 211-8It's a poor over from Patel but he picks up a wicket from the final ball when Ashwin gets into a tangle before lofting the ball to Finn on the leg-side.

IND 216-8Bresnan returns but England's frustration continues as Kumar crunches the ball straight down the ground for four more runs. An uncomfortable shot ends with another single being awarded to Kumar behind square on the leg-side. New batsman Ahmed can't deal with Bresnan's slower bouncers and it's just the five from the over.

IND 221-8Great work from Root in the deep to restrict Kumar to two following another lofted drive. Three singles follow before Ahmed strikes the ball into the air. However, Patel drops a simple catch to leave Finn frustrated at the end of his spell. poor fielding from Patel.

IND 225-8Bresnan begins the final over with two short balls but the second is heaved to the mid-wicket boundary for four by Kumar.

IND 225-9Wicket! Kumar (31) c Finn b Bresnan

IND 225-9Finn shows Patel how it's done in the field as he takes a good catch at mid-off to bring Kumar's entertaining cameo to an end.

IND 226Wicket! Ahmed (0) c&b Bresnan

IND 226Bresnan ends the innings with four wickets by taking a simple catch off his own bowling from a very ordinary Ahmed shot.

7.34amIn truth, it's probably a below-par score but having been 49-4 at one stage, India will happily take 226. England's batting has been inconsistent during this series but they'll be confident of ending this tour with a victory.

7.36amEngland might be disappointed with some of their bowling towards the end of the innings. Raina's knock was important but Kumar's cameo could prove to be vital.

7.36amThe players will take a break between innings and we're going to do the same. Join us in around 25 minutes when we resume our coverage.

8.00amWelcome back everyone. England will certainly be the happier of the two sides during the interval. Despite the series defeat, it would be a big boost if they could travel to New Zealand on the back of a victory. 227 needed for the win but expect an India fightback.

8.04amEngland seem to be lacking a bowler in this format of the game. Patel and Root were both expensive, although the latter has shown signs of his potential with the ball.

8.07amIt's worth considering the players that have not appeared in this series. James Anderson, Jonathan Trott and Graeme Swann have all been rested at the beginning of a year which will include 10 Ashes Tests.

8.10amA good start is needed by Cook and Bell. If they can build a big partnership, the run chase will become much easier.

ENG 0-0Both teams are back out following the break. England are favourites but don't write India off. Kumar to Cook, play!

ENG 4-0Cook plays and misses the first delivery, that will encourage India early on. A thick outside edge races past the two slips and it's four to Cook. England's skipper has another flirt with the ball outside the off stump and he's lucky not to be caught behind. Intriguing start to this innings.

ENG 5-0Ahmed will open the bowling from the other end and he immediately finds a brilliant line, with Bell bravely leaving the ball. An inside edge evades the stumps and earns Bell a run in the process. Cook is watchful for the remainder of the over and it's a good start from Ahmed.

ENG 5-0Kumar starts the new over slightly wider to Bell before bringing one back to strike the thigh pad of the right-hander. No freebies on offer and it's a maiden.

ENG 12-0There's a smile on Cook's face when a beauty from Ahmed somehow manages to miss off stump. A shorter ball allows the opener to nudge the ball to fine leg before a wayward delivery gifts England a wide. Bell's attempted cut shot just misses the stumps and he has four runs for his troubles. No luck for India, seven scored in the over.

ENG 16-0Bell reaches the boundary in trademark fashion by cutting the ball just in front of point to punish a wide Kumar delivery. Good response from the bowler to not allow any more runs to be scored.

ENG 24-0Superb placement from Cook as he flicks the ball off his hip to earn four runs through mid-wicket. Ahmed ends the over with a loose delivery and that's a gift for Cook, who drives the half-volley to the boundary rope with ease.

ENG 30-0Boundaries are flowing for England now as Bell rocks onto the back foot to punch the ball through the covers for four more runs. Another inside edge evades Dhoni and Bell picks up a couple more runs.

ENG 34-0First bowling change for India as Sharma comes into the attack and he immediately thinks he has a wicket. There is a noise as the ball passes the bat but it's not clear whether it was an inside edge. Probably a good decision from the umpire to give it not out. Cook piles on the misery by cutting the ball through the covers for four runs to spoil a good start from Sharma.

ENG 42-0Kumar continues but his luck is yet to change as Bell cuts the ball behind square for another boundary. There's four more later in the over when Bell punches the ball past mid-off. Superb batting from England's opener.

ENG 42-0Cook takes a chance with a wild swing outside off stump but there's no edge and Sharma will probably be more thankful it wasn't another boundary. Maiden over from the giant seamer.

ENG 53-0Bell gets off strike early in Kumar's over before Cook finds the boundary rope again with a thick edge. A swinging delivery clips Cook's pad and evades Dhoni, bringing another boundary. A wide and a single follow, 11 from the over.

ENG 53-0Good fielding from Raina at extra cover to block Cook's powerfully struck drive. Dhoni is then hit on the shin by one that keeps very low outside off stump before cook is left reaching for the ball in the same area.

ENG 53-1Wicket! Cook (22) b Sharma

ENG 53-1Sharma gets a deserved wicket to send Cook back to the dressing room. The England captain is late through his shot and the ball crashes into the stumps. Pietersen is the new batsman.

ENG 53-1Pietersen survives the final delivery and it's a wicket maiden from Sharma. India need to remove Pietersen quickly or England's run-rate will increase rapidly.

ENG 56-1Ahmed is back to replace Kumar and the returning bowler is lucky not to concede a boundary when a half-volley is hit straight to Yuvraj by Bell for two runs. A leg-bye brings Pietersen on strike but the new batsman is happy to leave outside off stump.

ENG 56-1Sharma looks fired up today as he beats Bell's outside edge with a beauty at the start of a new over. It's another maiden from Sharma and England seem to have caught him on a good day.

ENG 58-1Pietersen is off the mark with a powerful pull shot that almost knocks Jadeja over in the deep. Bell then works the ball to fine leg for a single. Good bowling from India but they need wickets.

ENG 63-1Bell sneaks a single at the beginning of a new Sharma over before a Pietersen drive almost results in an outside edge towards the slips. Rohit Sharma doesn't look like he fancies getting near Pietersen's successful drive at mid-off and it's a boundary to England's number three.

ENG 63-1It's time for the teams to take a drinks break.

ENG 63-1Ahmed continues following that brief break and it's a very good over. Bell has no room to work with on the crease and it's a maiden.

ENG 63-1First introduction of spin in the innings as Ashwin comes on to have a bowl. Bell can't pick the gap on either side of the wicket and it's a maiden start for the off spinner.

ENG 63-1Wicket! Pietersen (6) c Jadeja b Ahmed

ENG 64-2Pietersen goes attempting a huge pull shot, with Jadeja taking a very good catch in the deep on the leg-side. Poor execution from the batsman and England need to make sure they don't bat themselves into a hole here. Joe Root is in next.

ENG 71-2Ahmed continues his over and a wayward delivery allows Bell to flick the ball off his pad to collect four runs. Seven scored in the over but Ahmed has the crucial wicket of Pietersen.

ENG 74-2Root is off the mark with a nudge onto the leg-side midway through Ashwin's new over and Bell adds two more runs with a push into the same area.

ENG 76-2Kumar is back for a new spell and Root looks eager to use his feet. That move puts Kumar off his length and a wide follows before Root steals the strike with a single down the ground.

ENG 79-2A leg-bye at the start of Ashwin's over brings Bell on strike and he's happy to deal in singles at this stage, pushing the ball to deep square-leg. Root once again takes a run from the final delivery to keep the strike.

ENG 89-2Root reaches the boundary for the first time today with a late cut shot behind point for four runs. A thick edge later in the over races away very fine and it's four more. Two runs from the final ball and it's 10 from Kumar's over.

ENG 92-2The England duo milk Ashwin's over for three runs. India need another wicket soon and England may think about accelerating soon.

ENG 92-2There's a break in play while the ground staff repair some loose turf in the bowlers' run-up. A weight is brought onto the pitch but in truth, it's not making a difference.

ENG 93-2Sharma is back for a new spell following that successful stint earlier. A good piece of running allows Bell to sneak a single to mid-off before Root shows us his defensive ability with the bat.

ENG 102-2Yuvraj is on for his first bowl of the day, interestingly before Jadeja has bowled a ball. A half-tracker comes gift wrapped for Bell and he pulls powerfully through mid-wicket for four. A single brings root on strike and he adds another boundary with a thick edge behind square on the off-side. Nine runs from yuvraj's first over.

ENG 103-2It's Jadeja who does eventually come on, replacing Sharma. Great start from the all-rounder and there's just a single from the over.

ENG 109-2Root and Bell trade singles before the latter punches the ball to mid-wicket for two runs. Another single follows and that's the half-century for Bell. Good innings but he'll want to be there at the end. Six runs from the over.

ENG 111-2Root latches onto a half-volley but he can only pick out Kohli in the deep to earn a single. Jadeja produces a beauty and almost catches Bell's edge to bring a gasp of approval from Dhoni. Two from the over.

ENG 118-2Ashwin is back to replace Yuvraj and he's immediately pushed to long-on by Bell. Root finds the boundary by crunching Ashwin's half-tracker for four, bringing up the fifty partnership in the process. Two more runs are score in the over.

ENG 122-2India seem to have lost a bit of urgency in the last few overs and Dhoni needs to rally the troops if they are to make it a 4-1 series victory. Root and Bell both take a couple of runs from Jadeja's over.

ENG 124-2Much better over from Ashwin and he concedes just two singles from the six balls. An enthusiastic appeal for lbw is quickly rejected and that was pretty desperate from India.

ENG 126-2Singles continue to flow for England as Root and Bell proceed to chip away at the total. Two from Jadeja's over.

ENG 137-2Root pulls the ball through mid-wicket for a single before Bell dances down the pitch to loft six runs straight down the ground. A wayward delivery results in a wide and Bell adds another with a push down the ground. 11 scored in an expensive Ashwin's over.

ENG 142-2Kumar is back into the attack and he's immediately taken for two runs to deep cover by Root. Bell moves to 70 with a cut to point but it's a decent return for Kumar, with just two more runs being scored.

ENG 142-2It's another drinks break. England need 85 more runs to win. Bell 71*, Root 31*.

ENG 143-2Jadeja is back on for a new spell and the batting powerplay is taken, without choice, by England. A single is take by Bell on the leg-side.

ENG 143-3Wicket! Root (31) b Jadeja

ENG 143-3It's a much needed breakthrough for India as Root plays across the line at a straight one and is bowled. Can the hosts do something special? Morgan is the new batsman.

ENG 145-3Morgan is off the mark immediately with a single and Bell makes sure he'll keep the strike with another to deep point.

ENG 151-3Sharma is back into the attack and that looks like a good move from Dhoni. Bell punches the ball to long-on for a single before Morgan takes a chance by cutting the ball just short of substitute fielder Rahane at point. A single is taken by the left-hander on the leg-side before Bell ends the over by collecting four to deep square-leg.

ENG 156-3Morgan pushes the ball to mid-wicket for a single and Bell adds another to long-off. Three more runs follow and it's five from the over. England need 71 from 72 balls.

ENG 163-3Morgan drives powerfully through cover but he picks out the fielder and can only collect two runs. A second drive earns the former Ireland international a single before a lofted shot over extra cover from Bell reaches the boundary for four more.

ENG 167-3The England duo trade singles at the start of Jadeja's new over, a wide forces the spinner to bowl an extra delivery and Morgan adds another run.

ENG 170-3Good over from Ashwin, only conceding three runs from the six balls. A beauty beats Bell on the outside edge but he survives and England continue.

ENG 174-3Ahmed is back for a new spell and Morgan uses his feet well to rush a single through point. Bell prods the ball onto the off-side to add another. Kohli does superbly well at point to block Morgan's cut shot but the England duo do take another single. Four runs come in the over.

ENG 184-3Bell decides it's time to pull out the entertaining shots as he reverse sweeps to the boundary for four to leave Ashwin frustrated. Six more are added and Bell is now just five short of a century.

ENG 192-3Sharma is back for a new spell and the England duo sneak a single when Kohli throws at the stumps. Three more singles are taken from the next three balls and Bell then reaches his century by whipping the ball through mid-wicket for four runs. Big innings from a player who is finally finding his place in England's ODI team.

ENG 200-3Morgan can see the end is near, launching the ball over mid-wicket for a big six at the start of Ashwin's new over. Dhoni is then beaten by Morgan's glove, giving England another single. Bell adds one more and it's eight from the over.

ENG 216-3Ahmed returns to the attack again and is immediately met by a lofted Bell shot, resulting in just one run for the right-hander. Morgan continues his attacking streak by sending the ball over long-off for another maximum. Two more are taken by Morgan before a huge pull shot gives him his second six of the over. Magnificent batting from a man who was in need of an innings like this one. 16 runs are taken from the over.

ENG 222-3Morgan gets off strike at the start of the over and Bell then nudges the ball through mid-wicket to collect four runs. One more single for Bell and England only need five more runs for victory.

ENG 226-3Jadeja comes on for what could be the last over. Bell pushes a full delivery through the covers, giving the centurion another boundary.

ENG 227-3England win by seven wickets! Bell pushes the ball onto the off-side and that's it, England win comfortably in the end. India take the series 3-2 but the tourists have restored some pride today.

11.34amEngland may be disappointed with the series defeat but there have been some good signs for the team. The form of Root and Tredwell in particular will be very encouraging ahead of a busy year of cricket in all formats.

11.36amIndia deserve big credit for this series win. They were heavily criticised for their performances in the Tests but we've seen some great displays in the past couple of weeks.

11.37amThat's all from me today. These two teams go their separate ways now as India prepare to face Australia and England head to New Zealand. Join us for coverage of both of those exciting contests during a busy month of cricket in February. Thanks for joining me today, goodbye.
