Interview: James Vince happy England's ODI form is getting people talking again

Hampshire captain James Vince tells Sports Mole that he is happy to hear England being talked about again due to their positive one-day form.

Hampshire Twenty20 captain James Vince has observed that England's new-look attacking approach in one-day cricket is getting fans interested again.

Eoin Morgan will lead the side into the fifth and final ODI against New Zealand at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street on Saturday.

The series is perfectly poised with the sides having won two games apiece, and Vince, who has been included in England's T20 squad for next week's contest against the Black Caps, has given Sports Mole his thoughts about the clash.

You've had a brief spell with England's one-day squad. What do you make their new-look attacking approach?

"It's been good, it's been a good series to watch. I think in the past, watching England hasn't always been the most exciting thing, but people are talking about it and with it 2-2 going into the last game against New Zealand - the guys who came runners-up in the World Cup - it's a great effort."

How do you see the fifth and final ODI turning out in Chester-le-Street?

"I'm not sure what the wicket will be like at the Riverside. It might not be as high scoring as the previous games, but fingers crossed that England get over the line."

Considering Hampshire's positive T20 form over the last couple of years, do you think that it's unfair that there aren't more of your players being considered by England?

"It's hard to comment, I'm not involved in any of the selection or anything. We don't have a selector here so we don't get any feedback, but we've got a good group here and I think it's part of the reason why we do so well consistently because we don't have players jumping in and out, so it's a strength as well."
