England remain in control of the third Test against India as Alastair Cook reaches double century at Edgbaston.

Alastair Cook has achieved a double century for England in the morning session of the third day at Edgbaston.

England lead by 279 runs on 503-3 while India have failed to take a fourth wicket in the early session.

The visitors shouted for an lbw after Sreesanth threw a full swinging ball into Eoin Morgan’s pads but it was not given by the umpire.

The morning session, which finished early due to rain, proved comfortable for England after Cook racked up 206 runs while 24-year-old Morgan reached Test 50 and completed the morning on 66.
