Australia place duo on standby for third Test

Australia call up Nathan Coulter-Nile and Doug Bollinger to the standby list for the third Test of The Ashes.

Australia have cast their eye ahead to the third Test of the Ashes series in Perth by placing seamers Nathan Coulter-Nile and Doug Bollinger on the standby list.

The uncapped Coulter-Nile and Bollinger, whose last Test was came during an Adelaide defeat to England three years ago, have been declared unavailable for selection for the next round of Sheffield Shield matches.

"We hope the fitness and form of current squad members leads to us having the same 12 for the Perth Test," said national selector John Inverarity.

"However, to ensure we are well prepared, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Doug Bollinger have been placed on standby."

The second Test gets underway from the Adelaide Oval on Thursday with Australia possessing a 1-0 series lead.
