Charlie Flynn 'not looking too far ahead'

Scotland boxer Charlie Flynn predicts that his semi-final clash with Joe Cordina at the Commonwealth Games will be "a brilliant fight".

Scotland boxer Charlie Flynn has insisted that he is only focusing on his semi-final bout at the Commonwealth Games and has refused to look too far ahead.

Lightweight Flynn booked his spot in the last four of the competition on Tuesday after beating Ghana's Jessie Lartey in Glasgow.

"I don't look at it where I am in the table, I don't see it as the semis, the final or anything, I just look to go in and perform. I will take out the next guy that is in front of me, I don't think where I am in the tournament," he told Sports Mole after the bout.

"I will look into my opponent, study him and I will look to beat him. Kill the crocodile that is closest to me and move on to the next fight."

Flynn also spoke about his upcoming semi-final bout with Wales's Joe Cordina, who is much-fancied in this division.

"It will be a brilliant fight. I am looking forward to this fight, I will go in and do what I normally do," he added.

The last-four clash will take place on Friday.
